Wintering

It’s been some time since the last entry, arriving with some changes and new methods for thriving, remembering and being.

Prior to the arrival of the pandemic, it was a transitional time for reorganizing of the modalities that encompass Source Mind Body.
With new practices and new ways of practicing — for centeredness, steadiness is a wider variety of support for your personal practice or to begin a practice.
I am both excited and nervous to share new offerings as the one-to-one work remains and a comprehensive new framework for The Practice via virtual sessions commences — within group meditation and a Simple Practices and a Check In series on Instagram Live.

You’re invited to sit with me for a while, add to your practice, create a practice or simply rest in steady supported stillness.
I hope you’ll join us.

Slower Living
With the undercurrent of the practices offered following the seasons both nature’s and our own personal seasons winter is a time to come to rest and stillness. There are times we aren’t given a conscious choice — the times of injury, trauma or illness unable to make or take the next step — call us to rest and retreat. The winter of life can come at any time, feeling like a cloud over our heads. Keeping a sense of separateness from the rhythm. Nature’s winter season keeps us from the flow that we experience in other seasons, the only difference is that we know this by where we are on the calendar. Winter, personal or calendar season, can be a time to come inward, staying closer to self, closer to hearing the messages the mind and body send us daily, hourly.

Slowing down, getting enough sleep, even slower replenishment, nourishment, nurturance.
How can you let rest become the simple rhythm of your day?
How can you move away from what you think you can ask for and rather than relying on external approval stay close enough to yourself to call and respond to what it is you need most. Right now. Here now.

Healing Apples Recipe
There are a few times of the year that I change my daily plate or cup by adding more vegetables to lighten the exertion of the digestive system. This past fall I joined the 3 Sources community where Rachel leads a 3-4 day Autumn Reset. With years of research and continued learning I’ve always wanted to have a resource to share with my clients for nutrition. I am happy to share Rachel’s holistic approach to nutrition with delicious balanced recipes and lifestyle. After completing the Autumn Reset the Healing Apples recipe has been on constant rotation in my meal planning — with its simplicity, rich flavor and the way my body loves it. Rachel’s current Winter Reset is underway but you can still access the Healing Apples recipe. To connect with Rachel and a rich volume of nutritional guidance at 3 Sources, visit the Journal.

Hygge
Norwegians are known for their art of wintering. Creating moods of coziness they call Hygge — creating a warm atmosphere — generating feelings of wellness and comfort as the coldest months arrive. How to curate your own hygge experience for the duration of this winter season? Fireside evenings and afternoons, lighting candles, plush textiles, nubby woolens, shearling slippers are a few ways to transform your environment into a comfort nest for the duration of this winter season.
